Privacy Policy
This policy explains how MistakeBook handles data on different platforms, what permissions the app uses, and how you can manage your data and permissions.
1. Data Collection
iOS Version
The iOS version of MistakeBook does not collect any user data. It does not collect, upload, or store personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, phone number, or address), and it does not collect usage data (such as browsing, taps, or interaction logs) for analytics or advertising purposes.
Android Version
The Android version of MistakeBook itself does not actively collect, upload, or store the mistake content, notes, images, or category data you create. However, the Android version integrates the third-party advertising service Google AdMob, which may process data related to advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, or regulatory compliance, such as:
- Approximate location
- App interactions
- Diagnostics
- Device or other identifiers
The actual disclosure details are based on the Data safety section shown on Google Play.
2. Not Linked to You
iOS Version
Because the iOS version does not collect data, there is no data linked to your identity. The iOS version does not provide account login, membership systems, or cloud sync, and it does not create user profiles.
Android Version
The Android version of MistakeBook itself does not provide account login, membership systems, or cloud sync, and it does not create MistakeBook user profiles. However, the third-party advertising service used in the Android version may process certain data for ad delivery, ad measurement, fraud prevention, or regulatory compliance.
3. Tracking & Advertising
iOS Version
The iOS version of MistakeBook is not used for tracking. It does not track your activity across apps or websites, and it does not share any data with third parties for advertising delivery or measurement.
Android Version
The Android version of MistakeBook displays ads provided by Google AdMob. Therefore, the Android version may allow third-party advertising services to process certain data for:
- Advertising or marketing
- Analytics
- Fraud prevention, security, and compliance
If privacy laws apply in your region, third-party advertising services may provide consent management or privacy choices under their own mechanisms.
4. On-device Processing & Storage
The content you create or import in this app (such as question/answer images, annotations, notes, categories, familiarity, and review records) is processed on-device and stored locally on your device (app sandbox / private app storage). MistakeBook itself does not automatically upload your mistake content to the developer’s servers.
However, on Android, because third-party advertising services are integrated, ad-related SDKs may process certain device and usage data; this does not mean that your mistake content is uploaded.
5. Permissions
This app may request the following system permissions, and will access them only when you actively use the related features:
- Camera: Take photos of questions/answers and add them to the app.
- Photos / Media: Select images from your photo library and add them to the app.
- Clipboard / Pasteboard: Read copied content when you use the “Paste” feature; the app does not continuously read the clipboard in the background.
- Files / Storage Access: Import/export files you choose in the system file manager. The app only accesses the files you select and does not scan other files.
You can manage or revoke these permissions at any time in system settings (iOS / Android). Revoking permissions may limit related features.
6. Import / Export & Sharing
Files are generated only when you actively use export or share features, and are then handled by the system’s save or share functions. MistakeBook does not automatically upload your files in the background to the developer’s own servers, and it does not provide its own cloud sync service.
If you share exported files to third-party services (such as cloud drives or messaging apps), any further data processing is governed by those services’ own policies and terms.
7. Data Deletion
You can delete mistake content within the app. Uninstalling the app removes MistakeBook’s locally stored data from your device (app sandbox / private storage). If you have exported backups to external locations or third-party services, you must delete those copies yourself.
8. Changes
If future versions of the app add data collection, change third-party advertising or analytics services, or introduce cloud sync, this policy will be updated and notice will be provided in the app or on the website.
